How to convert MIDI to WAV

Open a .mid file in the converter above, choose Grand piano or Synth, then set the sample rate (44.1 or 48 kHz) and bit depth (16 or 24-bit). Mute or solo tracks, choose how long the final notes ring out, and render. The WAV downloads to your device; nothing is uploaded.

  1. 第 1 步

    Open a MIDI file

Drag a .mid or .midi file onto the page or choose one from your device. Type 0 and Type 1 files work. Play it back first to check the tracks.

  2. 第 2 步

    Set format and tracks

Pick 44.1 kHz for music or 48 kHz for video. Choose 24-bit if you’ll keep mixing, 16-bit for a finished file. Mute or solo tracks to render stems one at a time.

  3. 第 3 步

    Render and download

The file is rendered offline in your browser, usually faster than real time, and saved as an uncompressed PCM WAV. Drag it straight into your DAW.

C你能得到什么

What you get

  • F.01

    Lossless PCM output

WAV keeps every sample the renderer produces. No compression artifacts and nothing thrown away before you mix.

  • F.02

    44.1 or 48 kHz, 16 or 24-bit

Match your DAW session or your video project. 24-bit files are written from the full-resolution render, not padded from 16-bit.

  • F.03

    Mute and solo before rendering

Bounce one track at a time to build stems, or leave out the click and the drums for a practice mix.

  • F.04

    Release tail control

Let the last notes ring for 0, 2 or 4 seconds so piano decays aren’t cut off, or choose 0 for tight loops.

  • F.05

    Sampled grand piano or synth

Render with Splendid Grand Piano, a public-domain sample set, or with a lightweight built-in synth that needs no download.

  • F.06

    Nothing leaves your device

Your MIDI is rendered in your browser. No upload, no sign-up, no watermark.

D谁在用

Who uses MIDI to WAV

  • Producers

Print a MIDI sketch to audio and drop it into a session, a sampler or a collaborator’s project, even if they work in a different DAW.

  • Video editors and creators

Render at 48 kHz to match your timeline, then cut music under footage without a resampling step.

  • Game developers

Render loops with the tail set to 0 so the file ends when the last note ends. WAV loops cleanly, without the padding MP3 adds.

  • Teachers and students

Make accompaniment and practice tracks from MIDI at CD quality, ready for a sound system, a class playlist or an audio CD.

E准确度与限制

How accurate is it?

Rendering MIDI to WAV is deterministic: the WAV follows the file’s notes, timing and tempo changes, and the same settings give the same result every time. What you hear depends on the sound set, not on guesswork. Piano parts sound closest to a recording; other instruments play with piano or synth.

实测准确率:上线时公布。我们怎么测 →
素材效果预期表现
Note timing and tempo changes良好Rendered offline from the file’s tempo map, so timing doesn’t depend on how busy your computer is.
Solo piano with Grand piano良好Sampled piano with velocity layers. The most natural render this tool makes.
Multi-instrument arrangements一般Strings, brass, guitar and other parts play with the piano or synth voice.
Drum tracks一般Drums use a simple synth voice. Solo or mute them as needed.
Sustain pedal, pitch bend and other controllers一般May render differently than in your DAW. Check pedaled passages by ear.

Tips for better results

Small choices at render time save work later in the mix.

  1. Match your session. Rendering at your DAW project’s sample rate avoids a resampling step on import.
  2. Use 24-bit if you plan to process the audio. It leaves more headroom and a lower noise floor for EQ, compression and mastering.
  3. Render stems by soloing one track at a time, and name each file after its track so the session stays tidy.
  4. Keep the release tail at 2 to 4 seconds for piano and pads. Use 0 only for loops.
  5. For loops, make sure the last note runs to the end of the bar, then render with no tail.
  6. If the render clips, lower velocities in your DAW or mute doubled parts. Clipped peaks are baked into the WAV.
  7. Need a smaller file to share? Render the same MIDI with MIDI to MP3 instead.

I详解

Sample rate and bit depth, explained

Sample rate is how many times per second the audio is measured. 44.1 kHz has been the standard for CDs since the format began and is still the norm for music releases; 48 kHz is the standard for video, film and most broadcast work. Both cover the full range of human hearing, so pick the one that matches where the audio is going.

Bit depth is how precisely each measurement is stored. 16-bit gives about 96 dB of dynamic range, which is CD quality and plenty for a finished file. 24-bit gives about 144 dB in theory. That matters less for listening and more for processing: when you turn parts down, compress or EQ them, you stay well clear of the noise floor.

Rule of thumb: render 24-bit at your session’s sample rate if the WAV is going back into a DAW or video editor. Render 16-bit at 44.1 kHz if the WAV is the finished product, for a CD or a distributor that asks for CD-quality files.

WAV or MP3: when lossless matters

A WAV file stores audio uncompressed. Nothing is discarded, so it’s the right format for anything you’ll edit, mix, master, time-stretch or sample. The cost is size: about 10 MB per stereo minute at CD quality.

MP3 throws away detail the encoder predicts you won’t notice, shrinking the file by a factor of about 4 to 11 depending on bitrate. That’s ideal for listening and sharing, but the losses compound: each time you process and re-encode an MP3, artifacts build up. MP3 also pads the start and end with a few milliseconds of silence, which breaks gapless loops.

Use WAV as your working format and MP3 as a delivery format. If you need both, render the WAV here and the MP3 with MIDI to MP3, from the same MIDI file and the same sound.

Rendering stems from a MIDI file

Stems are separate audio files for each part of an arrangement, such as piano, bass and drums, that share the same start point. Producers mix them in another DAW, remixers rebuild tracks from them, and video editors use them to duck one part under dialogue.

To make stems here, solo one track, render, then solo the next. Each render starts at the very beginning of the MIDI file, so the stems line up when you place them at the same position in a session. Keep the sample rate, bit depth and tail identical for every stem.

Stems from this tool use the piano or synth voice. They’re well suited to piano parts, guide tracks and arrangement sketches. For production-ready instrument sounds, render the MIDI inside your DAW with the plugins you mix with, or open it in the MIDI Editor first to fix notes before you bounce.

J常见问题

MIDI 转 WAV 常见问题

Open your .mid file in the converter above, pick Grand piano or Synth, choose 44.1 or 48 kHz and 16 or 24-bit, and render. Mute or solo tracks first if you only want some parts. The WAV downloads to your device, ready to drag into any DAW, video editor or sampler. It’s free and runs in your browser.

Match where the file is going. For music, CDs and most DAW sessions, 44.1 kHz is standard; for video and film, use 48 kHz. Pick 24-bit if you’ll keep processing the audio, since it leaves more headroom for mixing, and 16-bit for a finished file or a CD. If you’re not sure, use your DAW project’s settings.

Use WAV when the audio is going somewhere to be worked on: a DAW, a video editor, a sampler or a game engine. Use MP3 when you only need to listen or share, because it’s much smaller. WAV keeps everything and loops cleanly; MP3 saves space but discards some detail and adds a little padding at each end.

Yes. Every track in the MIDI file has its own mute and solo controls. Mute the drums or a click track, or solo one part at a time to render separate stems that line up when you drop them into your DAW. Muted tracks are left out of the WAV entirely, so you can make a full mix and a practice mix from the same file.

Yes. Converting MIDI to WAV is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no ads. The rendering runs on your own device, so there’s no server cost to recover and no plan limit on how many files you render. On Audio2MIDI.org you only pay for server-side AI tools, such as high-quality transcription and sheet music scanning.

No. Your MIDI file is read, rendered and saved as WAV entirely in your browser. It never reaches our servers and we don’t keep a copy. If you choose Grand piano, your browser downloads the public-domain piano samples once; that download is the same for everyone and contains nothing about your file.
